Coach Tommy Davis was an Outstanding football coach and athletic administrator who served as President of East Mississippi CC at Scooba. He was born in Prentiss County and is a graduate of Calhoun City High who earned college degrees at East Mississippi CC, Mississippi College, Southern Miss, and Mississippi State. Coach Davis coached at Pachuta, Meridian, Louisiana College, Northwest High in House Springs, MO, Heidelberg, Columbia, and Holmes CC. His 21-year coaching career record on the gridiron was 80-56-6 out of 142 games. He led Pachuta and Heidelberg to conference titles. Tommy served as assistant coach in 1967 Mississippi High School All-Star football game and as head coach in the 1972 Mississippi Junior College All-Star game. He was named Coach of the Year on 3 occasions. He guided Holmes CC to two state JUCO titles in track & field. Coach Davis entered academic administration at Holmes CC in 1975 and served as President of East Mississippi CC from 1990 to 2004. He helped save East MS CC from closing and improved enrollment at the college by an amazing 261%. Tommy accomplished academic executive who is a member of numerous professional organizations and served on state, regional, and national task forces and committees for the improvement of Mississippi community and junior colleges.
