Coach Mike Justice was a sterling championship football coach at Louisville and Madison Central. He hails from Itawamba County and was a 4-sport letterman and All-Conference football player at Fulton High. Mike made academic Dean’s and President’s Lists at Mississippi State where he earned his degrees in 1975 and 1980. He began his 3 decades of coaching at Caledonia. Coach Justice led Calhoun City to conference and district titles from 1980 to 1983 including a North State title. He coached Louisville to title success from 1984 to 1990 including back-to-back state championships in 1984 & 1985. Coach Justice paced the Wildcats to 6 district titles plus 2 North State crowns along with the state titles. He coached the Madison Central football squad from 1990 to 2002 and led the Jaguars to 8 district championships, 1 North State runner-up finish, 1 North State title, 1 region crown, and the 1999 Class 5A State championship. He has coached at Oxford and Anniston High schools in Alabama since 2002 before entering private business. He returned to coaching in 2007 at Gulfport High. He was named District Coach of the Year 14 times, selected as Metro Coach of the Year by the Jackson Clarion Ledger 3 times, and chosen as State Coach of the year by the CL on 2 occasions. Mike was named Athletic Director of the Year by the MAC in 1998 and by the NHSAA in 2000. He served as assistant and head coach in the MS/AL All-Star game in 1990 & 2001 and in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic in 1984 & 1988. He was instrumental in creating the MHSAA No Pass, No Play rule in 1985.
