Coach Leslie “Tap” Godbold was a football coach at Belzoni and Provine. Coach Godbold lettered in football at Copiah-Lincoln Junior College. He served as head coach at Belzoni in 1938 and at Provine from 1956 to 1959. His overall coaching record as a head coach is 14-30-2. Coach Godbold was a member of the Jackson Touchdown Club and longtime member of the MAC. In addition to MAC Coaches Hall of Fame membership, Coach Godbold was inducted into the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1979. Coach Godbold passed away on April 29, 1994.
