Coach Jimmie Moore was a veteran football coach from Philadelphia who built championship programs in Mississippi and Alabama. Coach Moore graduated from Edinburg High in 1961 and from Miss. State in 1966. He started his three decades of coaching at Buchanan High in Buchanan, Georgia. He returned to Mississippi in 1967 where he served as head football coach and athletic director at Hamilton High for 19 seasons. He led Hamilton to 6 Parkway Conference titles in 1968, 1969, 1970, 1973, & 1974 plus 3 Waterway Conference crowns in 1976, 1977, and 1979. His 1981 Hamilton team won the Class BB State Championship and repeated in 1982 with a Class B State title. Jimmie coached at New Hope from 1986 to 1992 when he moved to Aliceville High in Aliceville, Alabama. He moved to Colbert County High in Leighton, Alabama, in 1993. His 1993, 1994, and 1997 teams captured the Alabama AAA state championships. At time of induction, his squads won 280 games with 69 losses and 4 ties. He was an active in the Mississippi and Alabama coaches associations for over three decades. He served as assistant coach in 1979 and as head coach in 1981 in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Football Classic. He was the assistant coach for Alabama in the 1994 MS/AL All-Star football game.
