Glen Waddle is an attorney, sportswriter, and sportscaster who hails from Jackson, Mississippi.  Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1955, Waddle graduated from McCluer High School in Jackson before spending the decade of the 1970's at Ole Miss where he received a Bachelor of Public Administration degree and a Certificate of Law Enforcement in 1977, and his Juris Doctor law degree in 1980.

Glen is best known for his radio work, sports writing, and his voice as public address announcer at various athletic events throughout Mississippi.  He is the regular P.A. announcer for Mississippi College basketball & volleyball, the Mississippi High School basketball & baseball tournaments, the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star events, and Ole Miss baseball & football where he is famous for saying “First down – Ole Miss!”.  He is a longtime certified member of the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers, the Football Writers Association of America, and the College Baseball Writers Association of America.  

Waddle has served as a P.A. announcer for football, baseball, basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, roller derby, tennis, track & field, and ice hockey since 1982 and has been the Master of Ceremonies for the MAC Hall of Fame banquet since 1989. He has announced for minor league baseball and hockey on a regular basis. His many sports related awards include the 2001 Lindsey Nelson Sportscaster Award, the 2010 Outstanding Public Address Announcer, and the 2014 Outstanding Sportscaster Award from the All- American Football Foundation; the 2011 National NCAA Public Address Announcer of the Year Award from the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers; and three Mississippi Associated Press Sports Program awards for his radio work in 1988, 1989, and 1991.  He hosted his own sports radio program on WSLI and WJDX AM out of Jackson from 1984 to 1992. 

He is a member of the NASPAA 1,000 Club which is emblematic of a public address announcer working over 1,000 athletic events during his career.  In his 40-plus year career, Glen has worked numerous championship events including NCAA and NAIA baseball regionals and super regionals, college basketball conference and NCAA tournaments, and private and public high school football, baseball, and basketball state championships.  He has called U.S. Olympic Softball events, professional soccer games, Mississippi Special Olympics, volleyball, track & field, and numerous other athletic events for local and statewide athletic organizations.   

Glen has been public address announcer for Ole Miss football since 1997, and for Ole Miss baseball since 2000.  At Mississippi College, he has been public address announcer for basketball and volleyball since 1994.  For the Mississippi Association of Coaches, he serves as public address announcer for the Bernard Blackwell Classic All-Star Football game, the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Football Classic, the MAC North/South Basketball Games, the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Basketball Games, and the MAC All-Star Volleyball match.  He has worked for the MAC in public relations and as a public address announcer and emcee for numerous events since 1982.  In addition, he has been the primary public address announcer for the MHSAA state basketball tournament since 1984, 

where he is well known for “Welcome to the Big House!”.  He has served as the public address announcer for the annual Mobile Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, since 2001.  He has been a member of the Ole Miss Radio Football Network since 1984 as a statistician and occasional spotter.  In addition to the listed events, he has also served as Secretary and President of the Jackson Touchdown Club since 1996.
