Multi-sport championship coach at Philadelphia, Quitman, and Hinds CC who also served as MAC Executive Director. Coach Doug Fouler is a native of Paynes, MS, who graduated from Grenada High, Holmes JUCO, Delta State, and Southern Miss. His coaching and athletic administrative service covers 36 years from 1967 to 2002. He also served in U.S. Navy from 1960-62 before entering the coaching ranks. Coach Fowler coached at Philadelphia from 1967-69 where he served as assistant football & basketball coach and led the track squad to a 1968 district title. He paced Quitman High football team to 3 conference runner-up finishes and a conference championship in 1976. Doug guided the Quitman basketball team to a 1973 conference crown and led the track team to one district title, two conference runner-up finishes, and 8 conference championships from 1970 through 1979. He coached the Hinds CC track team to four South State titles, two state JUCO championships and one Region 23 crown from 1980-1983 including an appearance by the 1981 squad in the National JUCO Track Championships. He was selected as MAC track coach of the year 5 times (1972-75, 1979) plus MAC football coach of the year in 1976 and MAC basketball coach of the year in 1973 for an overall total of 7 coach of the year awards. Coach Fowler was named Junior College All-Star football coach in 1981 & 1983. He was President of the Sam Dale Conference in 1976. He was a longtime member of MAC (Executive Director 1991-2002), MS Assn of School Administrators (President, 2002), Fellowship of Christian Athletes, MS School Plant Managers (President, 1987), and National Organization of Coaches Association Directors.
