Coach Charles Lee was a longtime championship football coach and athletic director at Mize High School. Coach Lee is a native of Mount Olive who earned college degrees at Jones Junior College and Mississippi State. His 29-year coaching career was spent entirely at Mize, where he led the Bulldog gridiron program to 150 wins and only 48 losses out of 198 games for a 78% winning percentage. He guided Mize to state championships in 1988 and 1995. Charles coached the Bulldogs to 5 Mid South Conference crowns and 2 state runner-up finishes. He was named Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year on five occasions and Coach of the Year by WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg in one of his state title years. He served as assistant coach in 1989 and head coach in 1991 in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Classic.
